Pregnant women can take certain medicines to overcome the nausea and vomiting, whether home-based or herbal remedies appear to be low. Many drugs - both pill and suppository form - are available and considered safe to take for nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. However, it must be noted that not all of them work for every woman.
Here are some medications that can help reduce nausea:
Doxylamine with vitamin B6: Many women have experienced less nausea after taking 10-25 mg of vitamin B6 supplements three or four times per day. It relieves the symptoms of mild to moderate nausea.
Doxylamine is an antihistamine drug. Doxylamine may cause drowsiness and is not taken before driving. Half of the 25 mg tablet or two 5 mg chewable tablets can be used to reduce vomiting. This medicine can be combined with vitamin B6 in order to achieve better results.
A combination of Doxylamine and vitamin B6 are already in the U.S., but it is now in the country, as it was considered cause birth defects prohibited. No such decision was in subsequent studies. The medicine is still considered safe and effective. Consultation with the doctor is a must before taking this medicine.
Anti-histamine drugs are safe and effective. Some other anti-histamine drugs used to overcome nausea are:
Promethazine: This medicine is available as an injectable solution, pill, or rectal suppositories. It should be taken every 4 hours to avoid nausea. The most common side effects are dry mouth and dizziness, but it can also cause a rare side effect that occurs where the involuntary muscle contractions that cause twisting or jerking movements.
Metoclopramide: This medicine helps to overcome the pregnancy-related nausea by accelerating gastric emptying. It can either be taken orally or by injection every 8 hours.
Ondansetron: This is one of the most effective and therefore the most expensive anti-nausea medicine ($ 500 for 30 tablets). This medicine must be taken either orally or by injection every 8 to 12 hours is in.
Originally, this drug has been developed to control nausea in chemotherapy patients.
If the cause of nausea is acid, drugs that use the fight against acid: antacids worse: Many pregnant women suffer from acid reflux of gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea causes.
